It is always important to have an insulated and rigid barier between the conditioned space of your home and the unconditioned spaces of attics, basements, garages and the outside. If your home has a vaulted ceiling, don’t forget to install a knee wall and blocking where the attic meets the wall of the vaulted ceiling. The knee wall and blocking will act as an air barrier between the attic and your home (don’t forget to apply an air sealing product!). Insulation should also be applied here to reduce heat transfer between the spaces.
